- We would be happy to share any of our distance
education and networking experiences here in Nevada
with anyone who would contact us, or in the seminar
if out of state comments are allowed. Our PSC is now having
hearings on the new regulations and they are requesting
input from all concerned sectors. For reference:
Our network covers the entire state of Nevada and serves
our urban and a very scattered rural population with
internet access, school administrative connectivity,
college and university education, research and adminstrative
connectivity. We also provide and operate a 50 site distance
education compressed video network that is combined with and
operates over our data network facilities. The new
regulations their impact and consequences are of great
importance to us.

- Bureaucrats should on no account be exclusively allowed to
formuate the policies they admister. This most frequently
leads to policies, practices or regulations which makes
the admistrator's tasks easier, with little thought given
to the accomplishment of the original mission.

- The content of this seminar needs to be available to folk who
are either not online or who are new to the online world and
as a result will not participate in this process. I would
like to see face-to-face meetings held simultaneous to the
seminar, strategically placed throughout the region so the
knowledge is spread and community activism stimulated and
captured.
- - Kathy Schroerlucke
- Telecommunication discounts have created many questions. The seminar should provide most if not all the answers.

- I would like to lurk in the activity.
- - Stan Silverman
- I believe this is a good opportunity for Peabody High School to gain information
and exposure that we need to advance our program. After all,
the test for Link-to-Learn is your customers -- the students

- At this point the whole program and application process sounds very complicated for a small public library. Also, form my limited information at this point, it sounds like small public libraries will have limited benefit for the amount of work involved. I hope this seminar will clear-up some of this confusion.
- - Lois Strycula
- I think this is a great opportunity!
- - Diane Suffren
- It is a difficult challenge for us to be turning away schools that need our help because of the recent demands. Our management ability and constant referals have placed us in a position were we are trying to increase or staff to meet with each school district requesting our assistance.
- - R. F. Thompson
- It would be beneficial to see copies of examples of model Technology Plans and discount applications. I have obtained a few handouts from the PA State Library and from the Michigan State Library which have been helpful, but additional samples would be useful.

County are part of an Electronic Network and what works
for one must work for all.
