The thing that bothers me about making recalls too easy is that it could have a destabilizing effect upon government. If voters do their jobs at election time, recalls shouldn't be necessary. But when I look around at other countries that constantly have "no confidence" votes regarding their leaders, I can imagine us getting so mired in such things that even less gets done than what gets accomplished now. Special interests would have even more power by deliberately destracting a debate from an issue and shifting it to an office holder they do not agree with. We actually see some of that now-- whenever political opponents make irrelevant charges (true or not)that become the focus of a news media hooked on sensationalizm and eventually stall whatever legislation that was in the works. Of course, the recall options needs to be there, but I'm just not certain it needs to be easier.
