I think recall should be very difficult, and reserved for criminal behavior. While it may increase voter interest, it also destabilizes government. It's bad enough that we have 2 year terms, and term limits, but to add another level of back-watching would render all except the thickest of skin, or martyrs, unwilling to expose themselves to politcal office. Legislators have to be able to learn and make mistakes. They have to be able to change their minds when they have new information. They should not be threatened with recall because they have behaved intelligently. We hurt ourselves and democracy when we won't allow this growth, and fire away at public servants who respond to new information by shifting their positions. Who among us began a job and ended it with exactly the same opinions and beliefs?
