Rob Lopresti's message on GPO's new distribution policy from
yesterday concerned me greatly. If hard copies of materials
posted on Web sites are not going to be distributed to depository
libraries, what happens when a government agency removes the
material from the web site? Is there a government-wide policy on
when material can be removed?
Secondly, how do you authenticate the material after its taken
down from the site? Are steps being taken to address these
issues?
