I think setting limits on the individual contributions is not possible. There are currently too many loopholes in the system. By funding a candidate, it is only an act of support for your candidate which everyone clearly has the right to do. As for limiting airtime for candidates, I believe that this is one of the number one ways in which voters can learn more about their candidates and how they will act, not only in public, but in answering voter concerns. So long as a candidate pays the required amount that every other program must give in order to have airtime, there is no reason why candidates should be treated differently from any other person who wishes to have their positions expressed. As the main outlet for voters to hear about who they will be voting for, airtime is an absolute necessity.
