Libraries go down too. They're not open at night; some not on weekends or Sundays. Sometimes they're flooded. Sometimes they burn down. Sometimes they don't accession the one document you needed, or have de-accessioned it, or someone's stolen it, or it's been misshelved.
Different media have different access problems. The best path to maximum availability is through redundancy.
