1) Find sources of quality information for local farmers and2) Encourage this particular group of individuals, who have not traditionally relied upon the public library to meet the specialized information neeeds of their profession, to come through our doors.
Over the course of the next two weeks I shall be discussing some of our successes and failures.
But you are right -- it is the communication of information in a style and in language of use to "lay-people" that is the most formidable tasks in these efforts. It is my hope that as a group we will begin to explore some innovations and then find or create projects and programs which will accomplish this vital task in the weeks, months and years ahead!
