  • X-topic: Information

I am wondering if targeting the release of information to a
national public is the most efficient direction to head. From
the concerns and comments others have raised thus far, it seems
like the majority desires having information about local issues
available at local levels. Would it be more useful to make this
the goal of information dissemination? Perhaps this would be
more feasible and better address the diverse challenges and needs
raised that would be extremely difficult to do with a national,
one-size-fits-all approach.

If so, and again I apologize if this is redundant, local
community leaders would best know where to place an information
depository. In some situations, it may be a library,
college/community college, or even the chamber of commerce.
However, not all communities have such services and the only
local gathering spot might be a store or post office. Critical
to determining the location would also be knowing what
responsibilities an information depository has. Perhaps
guidelines to that end would be useful.
