  • Topic: Personnel Development

It is true that most of California's teachers come from state IHE environments, but the private, independent colleges and universities are held to the same standards, meet the same WASC requirements, and work hard to provide rigorous programs for our students who are going into education. Often, when one reads about what is planned, our contributions are not acknowledged. We all need each other. Most of us collaborate quite effectively, private and public together, in the community to increase the numbers of effective teachers sent out to schools. There are even (gasp!) times when our programs are more effective. Some of us are small and mighty and others are large and powerful. Think of Stanford and USC.

Please make sure that we are recognized as an important element toward realizing this powerful goal of a high quality teacher in every room, every day, every year!
