RE: Question 1:K-12 Teachers-What's in the Plan

What needs to be addressed is the lack of quality teaching in the teaching programs at the university level. Why aren't the best classroom teachers teaching new educators? Good teachers must be taught be the best...those that have proven themselves in the classroom. A quick check of every university in Southern California indicates that there is not one full-time college instructor who has been proclaimed the best in their field on a national level. Please, please correct me if I am in error. And, I don't mean the jump through the hoops NBPTS program that has never proven to improve student performance.
