I agree that the parents of California need to be reassured that they can continue to attend their local adult education school to learn about the issues surrounding their children's education. The statement, "Who is going to educate the parents?" is right on target. Adult schools have always provided educational tools to enable parents to nurture a rich environment for all their children, k-college. However, I do have concerns about splitting off advanced English from the adult schools. The staff of each particular school is best suited to follow a student's complete program from beginning to end. There needs to be latitude at each school site in order for students to matriculate at their own pace, even if it is a non-credit environment.
