Hello. I am writing to encourage the Master Plan to delete references to decile rankings. Unless there is a change in the definition of decile, California alwys will have at least 10 percent of its schools in the first decile and in each subsequent decile. If the bond passes in November, more schools will be built and by definition more schools will be placed into the first decile. In stead of the reference to deciles, I suggest that the plan refer to schools working to improve (below 600 on the API) improving schools (between 600 and 800 on the API) and improvement achieving schools (above 800 API). This terminology divides schools for resource allocation priorities without the trap of using deciles.
