I appreciate your reminding us of the flexibility of adult education to be more user-friendly. The obstacles that you mention that limit the application of these lessons to "younger learners" should not limit our thinking in developing a master plan for education. Your message raises funding and governance issues, which I hope will be addressed in future discussions.

Returning to technology in education, one of my favorite questions being asked by the Commission on Technology in Learning is, "How does technology cause us to think differently about the ways we organize schooling?"

Rather than trying to design the best schools in California for the last century, we should be focused on designing the first great learning environments for the emerging 21st Century.
