reform options

Reform cannot work unless the government looks for ways to reduce it's role in our lives. If "the government" took a philosopical stance that there can be a system that allows people to create their own security (much as most government workers now have the right to do) perhaps we could get somewhere. If you want to retire with the most money now, all you have to do is retire from government service and then work for ten years and get your SS entitlements. Double dipping is good if you're on the receiving end. Government workers had the right to opt out of SS, but it didn't keep them for coming back for it when it became opportune. Let us all have the opportunity to opt out. Claudine Paris
