#3. continue progressivity of current system. (bend points provide low-wage workers a better deal).

#5. Reform should support extended family (current sys seems to promote abandoning grandma). Maybe some aspects of reform could help to discourage broken families.

#7. minimize use of the income tax system to promote social goals.

#9. allow several criteria to determine increase in SS retirement age. (doesn't have to be the same age for everyone).
