Older women and Social Security

Please have someone address the issue of older women who have traditionally
not been employed where their salaries are comparable to men. If the age of
Social Security benefits is raised, will it not continue the disparity and
make it even more difficult for older women. Further, businesses are
reluctant to hire or retain older workers if they believe they will have to
pay higher medical benefits over a longer period of time. The additional
issue of the costs of training and retraining older workers for a
fast-moving, changing workplace, as well as addressing the fact that older
workers need to be trained differently from younger workers (related to
addressing issues of hearing and visual changes, short-term memory changes,
and energy changes) is not welcomed by the business community who do not see
long-term benefits from such training.
