RE: Organizing Information


As you have mentioned, access to the information is only one aspect
of the issue. I have had access to my public library since third
grade, but must admit that I have not read all the books. How to
make the right information available at the right time is a very
difficult issue, as one cannot be certain of what the best information
will be for any given person at any given time. I will leave the
best sorting ideas to one of the many librarians in this list, but
I will suggest that Amazon.com has done an exceptional job of
providing access to volumes of literature. I especially like that
they give a picture of the literature - and a brief summary of
contents.

This helps me weed out materials/information that will be usefull-
or not- at a glance.  The K-State Extension on-line publications
library has done a similar layout, and it seems quite effective.
