We now have an oligarchy, or plutocracy. Government is largely controlled by special interests. I believe in democracy, and I want it restored. Thus I support campaign finance reform, and restrictions on lobbyists, and prohibition of rewards of lucrative post congressional positions for particular legislators. No doubt special interests will fight this tooth and nail. They do have an investment to protect. They may find other ways to use their power. The rest of us will just have to be vigilent and fight that when it comes.
I have supported candidates financially and with support work; I would be delighted to have my contributions limited; I have to limit myself to $500, so $1000 is no problem.
I support donating to a pool that is split with all candidates, if by that you mean a checkoff on the income tax form.
