I am currently a junior at the Governor's School in Richmond, Virginia. My belief is that campaign finance reform is necessary for elected office to be available to all who seek it.

Ideally, I would like to see caps on spending. All of these Millionaires who won their senatorial elections are really beginnning a disturbing trend. Frank Corzine in his new jersey race alone, spent tens of millions of dollars ($80 million) in fact. The Republican candidate, by comparison, only spent $5 million. That's simply unfair. I realize that the Supreme Court views it as a form of speech to spend money on campaigning, but something has to be done so that lower economic classes can win office.
