Aloha, I'm Melissa O'Connor-Fariñas, a Public Participation Coordinator for the Hawaii Department of Health. I am responsible for collaborating with the people of Hawaii on behalf of the Department as we implement many of the federal programs under EPA authority (Clean Air, Clean Water, Safe Drinking Water, Solid & Hazardous Waste, Wastewater, etc.). I hope to learn from other's experiences in the arena of public involvement in environmental/science programs, and assist EPA where I can in their efforts to gather comments on their draft PIP.
