  • X-topic: Introductions/Goals

Ever since I read (and heard offline) from Jack Scannell I can't help but wonder how we could reach those who don't have access to the internet, or even the newspaper. This is a great forum, but I agree, not everyone can access the internet, and often those who can't need to have their voices heard.

The EPA did this with the public hearings on cleaning up the Hudson. I remember looking at the crowd on TV (didn't go myself) and realizing that the people *were* being heard. And people who were there have said that they felt like they had *some* input in an ongoing process.

I've read a lot of people here have connections with science and industry and education. I challenge you to think about whether a forum like this is "preaching to the choir"

Andrea
