Assuredly measurement of "learning" in any kind of single tense such as "testing" is less valid a measurement of "education" than the achievements, and human qualities of the student once he begins his life in the "real"world. That said we are still left with the need to assess the value, and validity of our educational processes in some way else we leave the whole enchilada to the vagueries whim and opinion.
