If you can condense your message to just a few sentences, more people will take the time to read it!
When there are many messages, few participants will have time to read them all - so a short message will "capture" more readers. I suspect many of us glance at a long message and go on to the next - it may say a lot, but it's hard to stop and take the time needed to really absorb it.
If you don't have time to be succinct, a short summary at the top will also help.
