RE: Questions on needs

What is a minority? I can be classified as a minority several times. I am an American of Near-Eastern descent, with Palestinian, Phonecian, Lebanese and Arab blood. I am a hetrosexual-male, in the Washington DC area that makes me a minority. I have long hair, most men do not, again a minority. I am a devout Capitalist and individualist, judging from this discussion and popular opinion I am in the minority. I am a successful professional without a higher education degree, again, minority. The list goes on and on. Does the fact that I can be classified into these numerous minorities change my needs?

Certainly not. My needs are the same as any other human being on the planet - food, air, shelter, love and freedom. Other than those basic needs everything is a desire and we all get as much of it as we want. The only catch is you have to earn it.

Needs do not justify taking from others. Needs do not make one special. Needs do not make one a minority. Every individual is responsible for satisfying their own needs and achieving as much as they desire. The prinicipals of this great nation allow one to pusrue happiness and ensure a right to life and liberty.

>>>Do you think that an assessment of
needs for different groups, including minorities, is a starting
point for any redesign of this essentially political system?<<<

Yes, my needs are that I want OUT of this failure of a socialist system, that would put me and my company in jail if I offered it on the market. It is a blatantly illegal, improper, illogical and un-American program. If I am not mistaken un-American ideas are still in the minority, aren't they?
