Dear Bill Larsen,
As a retired actuary and former member of the Society of Actuaries'
examination committee on demography and mortality statistics, I can tell you
that your comments about the irrelevance of increased life expectancies to
Social Security are absolute nonsense. Your defintition is gibberish and
makes no sense whatsoever. Life expectancy at retirement ages is the crucial
factor, not life expectancy at birth. If the rest of your analysis is on a
par with your discussion of life expectancies, it is not worth very much.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Randall, FSA
