A safety net is essential in a democracy if you want homeostasis.
Lower incomes spread the capital much more rapidly than the higher.
The multiplier effect of spending is the very base from which growth can
be accomplished.
Lower incomes move, I repeat, move money more repidly. Food,
clothing, shelter, and medical treatment are the prime movers of
capital.
The depression and those who lived it answers the question of the
necessity of a
SAFETY NET
