1. SS Act benefits are much needed by the masses and must be
increased---not cut. The middle and lower classes are paying the freight
here and not the wealthy, yet the wealthy are mostly tax exempt.
2. 1.6% COLA is fraud --- try 4.6% at least for Seniors.Taxing our
SS pensions is a fraud.
3. The payroll income tax that supports SS Act benefits is the most
Regressive in this nation. They should be half of what they are
if Corprations are taxed to a level of a 40% share of the total
Federal Annual Revenue Pool instead of the 10% corporations now
pay. [See CBO Report of Jan. 1999 page 46.]The tax share of our
corporate share of the total Federal revenue pool ranks 70th
in the world. Also, these payroll INCOME TAXES should cover all income
over the $65k shelter for 1998.
4. Stop using these categorical taxes for fighting wars undeclared
by Congress in a legal manner, and for other general purposes.
As Moynihan and the late Sen. Heinz said in 1990, in the private
sector this would be embezellment (sp).
5. The very word 'save' is a lie. The right wing hates socialist
SS benefits and will cause it to "wither on the vine" any way
that they can. They will use these tax funds any way they chose
and to hell with the masses.
6. Get real in this dialog and tell your people the real truth.
Do we have another elite smoke screen here? I think so.
