[Administrator's Note: Steve's Friday posting was delayed due to
technical problems. Apologies for the inconvenience.]
As Democratic House Speaker Tip O'Neill liked to say, "all politics
is local," and when it comes to environmental information, just
about all data sets are local in origin. Local libraries are likely
to have important locally-based collections. At same time we have
national regulation and national library resources.
So, let's look at how well these are being integrated.
How are local and national library resources working together today
and what changes would enhance their usefulness in the future?
