A great story is told here.
One of the issues about providing environmental information is
EQUITY. Equal access to information is especially important in
today's Internet- WWW-driven world. As more and more data and
information bemoces available in more complex and fancier
formats, there still are people who have a REAL need for the
data and information that are denied access because they just do
not have the right hardware and software to access the desired
information.
This also speaks loudly to PUBLIC LIBRARIES about the critical
roles they play in providing access to information via the
Internet and providing the expertise to assist users in accessing
and using the appropriate information resources at their disposal.
