I'm not sure we should accept the SC's position without challenge. I think history has shown the relationship between money and power. I am not sure that money equals speech, especially if it drowns out other people's speech.

If the issue is having an election in which each candidate can be judged on her/his values, ideas, and merits, then we should look at ways to give every "qualified" candidate an equal hearing.
