The question, "Do campaign contribution limits infringe on an individual's freedom to support the candidate of their choice or is it a small price to pay in order to restore political equity?," raises the following.

Yes, of course they do, and as to the size of the price, I suppose it depends upon the value one places on his freedom. Since many folks are willing to value the freedom of others less than than their own, we need strict scrutiny and protection of the freedoms detailed in the Bill of Rights.

Also, in a very real way, are not all reforms concerning monetary restrictions a perfect illustration of this? Are they not aimed NOT at "equity" for ALL, but only for equality between the two major parties? As Orwell would put it, are all viewpoints and parties to be "equal," but two particular ones are to be "more equal" than others.
