I have many concerns about this current debate about campaign finance reform(maybe). If soft money is truly banned from elections, this may hurt my party and my candidates more than it hurts the Republicans since that party seems to have little problem in raising hard money by the millions of dollars without, so it seems, breaking any laws or causing any investigations. I want the playing field to be truly level and the only way is to follow the example of Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and even Arizona in offering public financing to viable candidates who prove they have the support of enough people. Paul Wellstone is championing PUBLIC CAMPAIGN which is a real grass roots attempt to start a "prairie fire" of pressure for Clean Money Reform so even us little guys can have a real voice. I am a little blade of grass who is on fire with this grass roots movement!
