  • X-topic: Evaluation

Today is the closing day of the National Dialogue on Public
Involvement in EPA Decisions. Today's topic deals with how
EPA uses public input, how the Agency should evaluate its
involvement processes and how you, the participants in this
Dialogue, would evaluate the success of the present event.

Areas on which you might focus in today's discussion include:
  * Increasing the transparency of decision-making
  * Criteria for policy effectiveness
  * Criteria for public involvement success
  * Lessons for EPA from this Dialogue

Today's host is the EPA Office of Communications and Government
Relations. Our panelists are Caron Chess and Eric Marsh.

For more detail on today's topic, host and panelists, please
consult the agenda:

For the evaluation of this National Dialogue, Resources for the
Future has constructed an Evaluation Survey that all participants
are invited to complete. You will find it on the Web site at

      http://www.info-ren.org/network-democracy/epa-pip/join/epasurvey.shtml

Resources for the Future invites you to complete the survey if you
have registered for the Dialogue and agreed to participate in the
evaluation process. Results will be shared with all project
participants.

Please keep in mind that this Dialogue is not part of the formal
comment process on EPA's December 28, 2000 draft Public Involvement
Policy. Should you wish to submit formal comments on the policy,
you may send them to the EPA at
     stakeholders@epa.gov
We hope that your participation in the Dialogue will be useful in
helping you to provide more informed and focused formal comments
on the policy.
