You raise a good point that there is a need for educational materials on environmental issues that newspapers could use as a way to educate and inform the public, and that this information should not be just one point of view.

I don't know if you are aware of the National Safety Council's Environmental Health Center (www.nsc.org/ehc.htm). One of the purposes of this center is to educate journalists on environmental issues. The Environmental Health Center has produced books and articles on important environmental issues, and they try to present it from different points of view.
