You make many valid points in your statement. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that during the 8 years prior to January we were under an entirely different administration. EPA policies have not changed a great deal in 7 months. Additionally, most of the political appointees to the agency are not in place yet. Only a few have completed the confirmation process. So, are the problems that everyone is discussing due to the new administration? Most of the lobbying that industry does at the Agency actually takes place with career staff. It is rare that industry has to take something to the political level.
