A readily available tool for the disbursement of chemical data are Material Safety Data Sheets.

Industry, by OSHA mandate, must supply information to employees about the chemical hazards at the workplace. These could be used to inform and educate the public concerning the environmental impacts and possible health impacts from toxic releases.

Few families have absolutely no understanding of Right-To-Know, so this could be a "springboard" for the understanding of further technical data.
