MMR is very complex with a plethora of players. I think it's important to distinguish the EPA web site on the impact area described here from the MMR web site I've provided for the IRP program. These are two distinctly separate programs being conducted under distinctly different statutes.

It is also important for folks to understand that in the case of a federal facility cleanup, the federal facility is, by executive order, the lead agent for activities, including stakeholder involvement -- not EPA. This is not the case under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The Air Force's Installation Restoration Program at MMR has, over the past five years, consistently included the Air Force, EPA, DEP, local governments and citizens actively involved in the decision making process.
