Hi,

I'm John Holley, a long-time EPA person working in areas related to vehicle emissions, most recently on fuels issues. My work in EPA has been as a statistician and as a writer and implementer of regulations, but I have an academic background in sociology that pulls me into a kind of "extracurricular" interest in the materials of this forum.

I am repeatedly impressed with what I perceive to be a confusion between ends and means in both the general public discussion of environmental policy and in the dialogue between EPA and the public. I'm interested in seeing what this forum will turn up. I'll go along for the ride and may or may not find that I have contributions that would be useful.
