While it cannot be denied that those without Internet access cannot participate here today, the Internet still remains the most powerful tool for high speed information sharing with an interactive communications component. We are doing here something that was only a fantasy a mere decade ago!
Also, although there are still areas of the U.S. (and the world!) that don't have access, in many rural communities the resources of the public (or sometimes local community college) library and the free Internet access those institutions provide is not to be underestimated.
