Hello,
Our research center develops tools for planners and environmental managers to assist communities in Florida faced with astounding rates of development.

This forum should be aware of our projects which bring environmental education and current local regional and state environmental data together in a neat geographically oriented package. Through further implementation and development of these types of sites, we expect (and have witnessed) greater public involvement in local surface water monitoring programs and public involvement which should eventually influence future development patterns.

Take a look at www.seminole.wateratlas.org! I think you'll find this research novel and important. I also think that these atlases can be applied to a variety of environmental concerns (e.g. wetland mitigation and hazardous waste site cleanup).

I expect that we will be developing a statewide database before long.

Cheers.
