  • X-topic: Introductions/Goals

I am Michael Lambert, and I work for the Technical Outreach Services for Communities (TOSC) program of the Great Plains - Rocky Mountain Hazardous Substance Research Center (HSRC). We are funded from a grant from the EPA Office of Research and Development, and both TOSC and its companion program, Technical Outreach Services for Native American Communities (TOSNAC), provide local citizens with an independent understanding of the underlying technical issues associated with potential environmental risks at formerly used defense sites. Although I didn't see this exact topic on the planned conference agenda, I hope to see some discussion about encouraging community involvement in the cleanup of former defense sites thru the Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) process.
