This is a response to the RAB message.

I was a member of a Restoration Advisory Board for the Homestead Air Force Bace in Dade County (Miami), Florida from its inception in 1995 (I think)to the present. I represented our local Audubon Society. Overall I think that the base clean-up has proceeded in a very orderly and professional fashion. As site after site at the base was addressed we often came to technical questions which were simply over the heads of the RAB members. I relied on the consensus of the representatives from our local Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM), our state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the EPA and the Air Force. There was very little disagreement among the four agencies on the best course of action. Public involvement was minimal, although the Air Force tried hard to keep people informed, including well advertised public meetings, a newsletter, etc..
