I am Chris Fierros, I am a Rural Development Specialist for the Midwest Assistance Program. Our agency assists rural communities in 9 states through technical assistance in both one on one contact and various training sessions throughout the states. My dealings with EPA are mainly at the end of the process, the point at which it effects these communities. I hope to gain knowledge about how EPA plans to encourage participation from these rural communities in America in order to build the trust that it currently not there. It appears that currently there is a large hole between EPA policy and public involvement that looses the rural communities that these policies affect so greatly.
