Concluding comments

Thank you all for joining us in this important discussion about the Master Plan. I think the Dialogue has been a good way to help us learn about our state's education policy and to share our ideas and expectations with members of the Joint Committee and each other. 

I've enjoyed the opportunity to talk with many of the panelists, staff and participants as we put together the Dialogue. Most folks had not participated in anything like this before; yet everyone was intrigued by the idea as a way to enable policy makers, subject experts, and interested citizens to discuss the Plan together.

Info Ren Dialogues challenge policy makers and citizens to listen and learn from each other.  Through dialogue I think we can become bigger than we are individually, and by doing so we have the potential to create wiser policies.

I hope we will be able to convene a series of Dialogues over the next two years so that Californians can stay informed and involved as the Master Plan is finalized and legislation is introduced that implements the recommendations in the Plan.
