Mr. Stephen Young is absolute right about discipline problems inour schools. The situation is extremely serious in some middle schools and high schools, and even elementary schools. Yet this fact is ignored. It is as if the public simply does not know about it or want to know. If an investigative team of journalists ever researches and does an expose of what is really going on in schools, the results would shock and embarrass this country. All this begs the question, why???? Why do we have discipline problems that rob children of their right to a good education? Why is one of the major factors responsible for the poor quality of education so grossly ignored? We need to look at the role legal issues have played in precluding principals from performing their jobs in a manner that serves the true interests of our country.
