In our district, new intern teachers (who are teaching full time while completing credential requirements) are assigned to a support provider (SP) who also teaches in the district. These SPs are considered "teacher-leaders". I am an example of the truth in Ivan Cheng's comment: "Novice teachers can look upon these teacher-leaders as role models and, in turn, work toward becoming teacher-leaders themselves." So far in my career, I have gone from an intern teacher to a support provider. But what is the next step for me professionally?
