RE: Longer Day/ Longer Year

While I agree that we need to reassess our 'school calendar' I would also remind us that there also needs to be time for our teachers to rest and reflect (our students also need a rest).  Of course this can be done by spreading breaks through out the year but again having the time to travel and extend our own experiences so that they are brought back into the classroom also requires more than a week off.
