RE: Grounding Tenet for Learning
Thank you, Sen. Vasconsellos. You are right to say that we need to move away from top-down heirarchical approaches and instead inspire each student's innate instinct for learning. Some of the most important questions our young people face as they grow up are questions that have more than one right answer. How are we preparing them to face such questions confidently and enthusiastically? It won't work if they're used to being told what to do every step of the way. As I said before, rather than stuff children's heads with information, we need to develop their skills to seek out and critically evaluate information.
