I completely agree with Jeannie about the need for
Opportunity to Learn standards. The inequity not only
between schools but between classrooms within one
school can be enormous. Every student deserves a clean,
well lighted place with a competant, caring teacher. As a
classroom teacher what I struggle most with is class size.
How can all students have a true "opportunity to learn" when
39 others are competing for attention? There is simply not
enough of me to go around. I can't teach as well as I know
how.
