Thank you, Jeannie Oakes, for emphasizing the importance
of having an "Opportunity to Learn Index". I completely
agree that this is an essential component of a truly
comprehensive accountability system. California taxpayers
also have to realize that if they really want to offer a high
quality education to every single child, it's going to be
expensive, and we have to pay for it.
